Q: What is the difference between a consultation and therapy?
A consultation is short-term and goal-focused, where clients bring a specific challenge or question. Together, we develop practical strategies for handling the issue. Consultations are not ongoing therapy and are not intended to diagnose or treat a mental health disorder. Therapy, by contrast, is ongoing and addresses broader or deeper emotional and relational concerns.
Q: What are clinician-led peer consultation groups?
These are facilitated discussion groups for professionals to reflect on practice, explore challenges, and develop strategies collaboratively. They are not supervision or therapy, but provide a supportive, educational space for professional growth.
