Workshop A:
Supporting Clients Navigating Avoidance and Reactivity in Difficult Conversations: A Psychosocial Approach
Presented by Dr. Aneesah Muhammad, Psy.D., M.B.A.
Description: In this advanced clinical workshop, Dr. Muhammad helps clinicians to help their clients move beyond basic communication skills. She shares foundational steps of her proprietary integrative psychosocial approach (3-steps) that she uses to help clients prepare for and manage difficult conversations.
This approach, called The Strategy-Focused Approach, helps clients to reduce avoidance of difficult conversations and reduce reactivity during these conversations. Participants will learn how to help individuals, couples, families, or high-conflict groups navigate difficult conversations with more ease and less anxiety.
Who This Is a Good Fit For:
Mental Health Professionals: Therapists and clinicians (Ex: LCMFTs, LMFTs, LCPC/LGPCs, LCSW-Cs, AMFTs, APCs, Psychologists, etc.) looking to help their clients improve communication and optimize their relationships.
